Welcome to the 17th Annual Palmer Cup!

I am very pleased that this year’s international collegiate competition takes place at the wonderful Wilmington Country Club and am grateful to the officers, management and membership of this fine club for hosting the event. 

The Palmer Cup has certainly achieved an outstanding reputation in the realm of amateur golf since we launched it 17 years ago at my Bay Hill Club and Lodge in Orlando, Florida.  Many of today’s leading professional golfers have participated in the matches over the years at a great run of outstanding courses in America, the United Kingdom and Ireland.

I extend my best wishes to the members of both teams as they vie for the 2013 Palmer Cup and the membership of this fine club for hosting the event.
